Fundraising
Government provides a grant in aid to kindergarten associations designed to cover teachers' salaries, general maintenance of the buildings, the running of the Association office and the day-to-day running costs. Fees, parent contributions, fundraising and community grants are necessary to replace equipment and to develop grounds and buildings. Fundraising activities are held throughout the year and the committee and teachers work hard at making these relevant, interesting and fun. Each year the Association will often hold fundraising workshops to help committees with ideas on how to fundraise.

Grants
Community grants and Pub Charities are another way to raise money for a particular project. Grants are often advertised in local papers or check out your local councils on closing dates. Read more in our
General Funding guide.
When applying for grants and sending in a copy of the Association's Annual Report and Accounts, you should also attach to your application a letter from the Association explaining that your kindergarten is just one of 64 included in the Annual Accounts. This letter will explain how much your kindergarten has in its operating account. A copy of this letter is included in the Staff Page (see Grant Application Letter). You can ask your Head Teacher for a copy. Copies of Certificate of Registration under the Charities Commission, Certificate of Incorporation and IRD Charitable Status letter are also obtainable from the kindergarten or you can download them below.
